James Kromida is a seasoned leader with over 36 years of dedicated service to the EMSB and its community. As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) since 1979, James has built a successful practice with two offices in Canada and a network of international associates. His financial expertise and business acumen have been invaluable assets in his role as School Commissioner, a position he has held since 1998. Currently serving as EMSB Vice-Chairman, James has been re-elected multiple times, a testament to his deep commitment to public education and his strong rapport with the community.

Throughout his tenure, James has been actively involved in numerous school committees and infrastructure projects, ensuring that EMSB schools receive the necessary resources to thrive. His leadership has played a key role in improving school facilities, advocating for better learning environments, and supporting student success.

James has been a steadfast advocate for the rights of the English-speaking community, standing against legislative measures such as Bills 21, 40, and 96. He is a firm believer in the importance of defending the EMSB’s autonomy and preserving the quality of education for future generations.

His extensive experience in finance, governance, and community involvement makes James Kromida an ideal representative for the EMSB. He is committed to continuing his advocacy for English schools and ensuring that every student has access to the high-quality education they deserve.
